Young Lions Finland 2024 competition announces 30 entries for the shortlist

37 teams entered the competition this year with 53 entries made all together.

Of these, a total of 30 entries were shortlisted. Three teams achieved an entry in two categories and one team in three categories on the shortlist.

The Young Lions Finland competition is looking for the future stars, aged 30 years old or younger, of the marketing and communications industry to represent Finland at the international Cannes Young Lions Competitions.

The competition consisted of marketing and communication entries in seven different categories, based on the brief given by MIELI Mental Health Finland. This year, the young professionals competed in seven categories – Design, Digital, Film, Marketers, Media, PR and Print. Depending on the category, the competition entries had to be executed in 24 or 48 hours.

This year, the most popular category was PR, with 14 entries in total.

The Young Lions Finland juries consist of 47 experienced marketing and communications professionals from a wide range of organizations, both local and global. Suvi Lähde, Executive Creative Director at SEK, is the head of Jury for this year’s competition.

In the entries this year the jury paid particular attention to the strategic solutions, vision, distinctiveness and creative problem solving.

The competition continues with the second round of judging. The winners of the Film and Print categories will be decided in closed judging sessions on week 13. The winners of the Design, Digital, Marketers, Media and PR categories will be selected after the shortlisted teams present their work to the jury on week 12.

The winners will be announced on Thursday the 11th of April in the Young Lions Finland Awards Ceremony. The best of the finalists will be awarded with bronze, silver and gold prizes or with or an honorary mention. The Gold winning teams from each category will be awarded with a pass to compete against their international counterparts in the Cannes Young Lions Competition, and to join the Cannes Festival of Creativity in Cannes, France in June 2024.
